A source in Portugal has claimed that AC Milan will not get an answer today regarding the future of Sergio Conceicao at Porto, because the meeting will occur tomorrow.

According to what O Jogo (via MilanNews) are reporting, the long-awaited face-to-face between André Villas-Boas – the new president of Porto – and Conceiçao will in fact take place tomorrow and not today.

The coach of the Portuguese team renewed a few days before the elections until 2028, but under the assumption that the old president Pinto da Costa would be re-elected and would remain in power.

Now that things have changed, Conceicao’s faith in the project might waver too. After the meeting with Villas-Boas it will be understood whether the former Inter and Lazio player’s seven-year spell at the club will continue.

Conceiçao has been at the top of Milan’s list for a few days to take Stefano Pioli’s place on the Rossoneri bench. With Julen Lopetegui cross off after the strong reaction of the Milan fans, the management have shifted his attention to the Portuguese coach.

What might boost their hopes is that Villas-Boas spoke yesterday at his unveiling as president and he spoke about a ‘new era’ and a ‘change of direction’ for the club, among other things. Conceicao was not present at the event.
